Satyajit Roy's Pratidwandi is still relevant 48 years later!!

I recently watched the Pratidwandi by Satyajit Roy as I was recommended by a friend. I had seen Apu trilogy before, which realism is gut wrenching.

Pratidwandi is a story about a job seeking man who feels lost because of he can't really fit in with the social injustice in wealth distribution.
He feels like he doesn't want to be a part of aristocratic society and yet he aims to get a job and struggles a lot.
Satyajjt Roy made this movie in 1972, which is 48 years ago, and still the youth is struggling to get a job.
What I liked is the story, so realistic, nobody wants to talk about the struggle everybody faces chasing for a job especially a govt. job. It was set during the period of the Naxalite movement in Bengal.

Siddhartha is medical studies drop out, unable to get a job, while his sister has a job. He is unable to focus, not knowing what he really want to do, he spends his days giving interview after after interview without any success. While his brother goes to join in the revolution and his sister tries to join the aristocrat society, he finds himself further confused.

The story itself remains same for lakhs of man in India, struggling to get a job. There is no gureennted work even though you may be highly educated ! Unemployment has been a great issue causing stress, anxiety in most man's lives in India !

The camera movement is really good. The dream scenes were so good, surreal. I felt some Hitchcock's influence on soundtracks. It's a very influential about realistic situation about the struggling job aspirants !
